Why Free, and Why Now

Concrete is not waste to us. It's inbound raw material. When you drop broken slab, curb, foundation chunks, or block at our yard, it goes through the crusher and comes back out as recycled crushed aggregate (RCA) that contractors buy for road base, driveway pads, backfill, and drainage.

What We Take (And What We Don't)

Clean concrete and asphalt is what we're built for. Specifically:

Broken slab, curbs, sidewalks, foundation chunks
Concrete block, CMU, brick, masonry
Precast pieces, pipe, culvert
Natural stone
Asphalt millings, chunks, and pavement tear-outs

Rebar sticking out of concrete is fine. We separate steel during processing. See our post on whether you need to separate rebar if you're breaking up a reinforced slab.

We can't take:

Trash, household waste
Wood, drywall, roofing, insulation
Dirt mixed with debris
Painted or chemically treated concrete
Hazardous material

If your load is 80 percent concrete and 20 percent scraps, it may still get through as long as the scraps are minimal. Call ahead if you're unsure.

How This Compares to Everywhere Else Around Here

For the last two years, contractors in Blount and Knox have had a short list of options and most of them hurt.
