Two ways in from Sevier County
From Sevierville, US-411 west is the straight route: through Seymour and into Maryville, about 35 minutes outside of peak tourist traffic. It's the road most loaded trucks use because it's a steady highway grade the whole way. From Pigeon Forge and Wears Valley, US-321 runs west through Wears Valley and Townsend into Maryville. It's a scenic road with curves and grades, so it works for a pickup or trailer, but crews in a loaded tandem usually go back to US-411. From Gatlinburg, plan on adding time either way. If you're timing a run, Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons on the Parkway are the ones to avoid. We're open until 5 PM weekdays and 8 AM to noon Saturday.
Sevier County disposal and its catch
Sevier County's construction and demolition disposal facilities charge by the ton, and concrete is about the heaviest thing a contractor hauls. Call them for current rates. The Blount County Landfill is closer to us than to you and may turn away haulers from outside Blount County, so it isn't a reliable backup. Our yard takes clean concrete, asphalt, brick, block, and natural stone from any county, free, with no scale. That changes the math on a long haul: you're trading drive time for a disposal bill. On a big job with multiple loads, that trade usually comes out well ahead.
Cabin, rental, and commercial work
Sevier County loads have their own flavor. Cabin and rental builds on hillside lots produce footing spoils, old pads, and failed retaining wall block. Rental owners replace driveways and parking pads that take a beating from guest traffic. Commercial properties along the tourist corridor tear up parking lots and sidewalks on a regular cycle. Natural stone and rock from site work is welcome too. The thing to watch on mountain jobs is dirt: clean fill dirt is only accepted with a call ahead, and dirt mixed into a concrete or asphalt load is a problem. Base rock for steep driveways and walls
RCA crusher run (1 inch minus with fines) compacts hard, which is what you want on a steep cabin driveway or a parking pad that needs to hold up under traffic. RCA #57 (clean 3/4 to 1 inch, no fines) is the drainage stone for behind retaining walls and along foundations on sloped lots. Both are made from recycled concrete at our yard. Hauling base up a mountain road is slow, so many Sevier County crews send a truck down with a tear-out load and bring base back on the return trip instead of running empty both ways.
