Our Aggregate Product Line
Not all gravel is the same. Different projects need different sizes, compactability, and material composition. Here's what we have available and what each is designed for.
Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA) — All-Purpose Base Material
What it is: Concrete that's been demolished, crushed, and processed into a well-graded aggregate with 0–2 inch sizing.
Best for: Foundation sub-base, road and parking lot base, fill material, drainage layers
Why use it:
- 30–50% cheaper than virgin aggregate
- Compacts and performs identically to quarried stone
- Environmental credit (diverted from landfill)
- ASTM compliant
Pricing: $25–35/ton (depending on volume and load size)
Minimum order: 5 tons (can arrange smaller loads with surcharge)
Delivery: Included for most jobs in Blount/Knox/Loudon/Sevier counties
Example: 50-ton driveway base project
- Material: 50 tons × $28/ton = $1,400
- Delivery: Included
- Total: $1,400
- Compaction depth: 6–8 inches over 625 sq ft
Crusher Run (Recycled Asphalt & Concrete Mix)
What it is: A blend of crushed concrete and asphalt with dust (0–1.5 inches), designed to compact and bind.
Best for: Driveway base, parking lot base, stabilized road surface, utility trenches
Why use it:
- Dust content acts as a binder when compacted
- Creates a stable, non-erosive surface
- Better for areas with freeze/thaw cycles
- Cost-effective alternative to asphalt for temporary surfaces
Pricing: $28–36/ton
Minimum order: 5 tons
Delivery: Included for Blount County area
Example: 30-ton parking lot base (8-space lot)
- Material: 30 tons × $32/ton = $960
- Delivery: Included
- Total: $960
- Compaction: 4–6 inches over ~2,000 sq ft
#57 Stone (Crushed Limestone/Concrete, 1–1.5")
What it is: Uniformly sized crushed stone, roughly marble-sized pieces.
Best for: Drainage (French drains, gravel beds), landscape gravel, decorative applications, permeable driveways
Why use it:
- Excellent drainage properties
- Decorative appearance (visible gravel driveways)
- Works well under landscape fabric
- Non-compacting (stays loose)
Pricing: $30–40/ton
Minimum order: 3 tons
Delivery: Included; can be staged at curb for small projects
Example: French drain project (100 linear feet)
- Material needed: 8 tons
- Material cost: 8 tons × $35/ton = $280
- Delivery: Included
- Total: $280
#2 Stone (0.5–1", Fine Crushed Material)
What it is: Smaller crushed stone, roughly pea-gravel sized.
Best for: Drainage, landscape finishing, mulch alternative, utility work, smaller trenches
Why use it:
- Finer sizing for refined landscaping
- Excellent for tree beds and landscape perimeter
- Good drainage while maintaining appearance
- Less rolling/spreading than larger stone
Pricing: $32–42/ton
Minimum order: 2 tons
Delivery: Included for local jobs
Example: Landscape border project (200 linear feet × 2 feet wide × 3 inches deep)
- Material needed: ~3 tons
- Cost: 3 tons × $38/ton = $114
- Delivery: Included
- Total: $114
3/4 Minus (0–0.75", Fine Powder & Small Stone)
What it is: Finely crushed concrete and stone with significant dust content. 3/4 inch maximum, down to powder.
Best for: Walking paths, fine-grade fill, utility trenches, dense compaction applications, under pavers
Why use it:
- Compacts extremely densely
- Dust content binds material into stable base
- Ideal for areas you want to eliminate settling
- Lower cost per application (requires less depth)
Pricing: $20–28/ton
Minimum order: 5 tons
Delivery: Included
Example: Paver walkway base (300 sq ft, 2 inches deep)
- Material needed: 7 tons
- Cost: 7 tons × $24/ton = $168

Questions We Get
"Can I pick up instead of delivery?"
Yes. If you have haul capacity, we can load you at our facility. Discounts may apply depending on timing.
"What's the difference between #57 and #2 Stone again?"
#57 is bigger (1–1.5 inches), better for drainage and decorative driveways. #2 is smaller (0.5–1 inch), better for landscaping and fine-grade work.
"Can I use RCA for a visible driveway?"
Yes, but it won't look like a polished gravel driveway. RCA is more utilitarian (crushed edges, varied sizes). For visible/decorative, #57 or #2 Stone is better.
"Do I need a compactor?"
For RCA or Crusher Run (if you want solid base), yes—hand tamping works for small areas, but power compaction is better. #57 and #2 Stone don't require compaction (they stay loose for drainage).
"How much material am I actually getting in a ton?"
About 1 cubic yard per ton (varies slightly by material density). So 5 tons ≈ 5 cubic yards.
